Return of the Item Girl...
Hello People,
First of all, I would like to wish everyone a "Very Happy Diwali and a Prosperous New Year!"
And I am soooooooooooooo Happy....because my bosses are not in town...Yippieeee!!!!!!
They are in UK for an Exhibition...Yippieeeee!!!!!!!!
And they won't be back until next week.....YIPPPPPPPPPIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Ok!! I guess I am digressing but am sure most of my friends can relate to my happiness...after all, bosses are such a pain in the...well...lets talk of my post!
Now, I am sure the title has left you wondering!
And, I so truly know that half of you perverts have looked up this post to grab some...well...masala!
Sorry to disappoint you folks! But, this one is a flashback from my weird childhood...it actually came to me when I was at a party last week and I saw a kid dancing for an audience comprising of drunken uncles, gossiping aunties and some other bored-to-death-don't-know-what-I-am-doing-at-this-party idiots like ME. Poor kid!! she was half-amused, half-scared doing her thing and sheepishly glanced at her mother each time a step went wrong!
Have you ever seen some kids forced to dance by their ever-so-eager parents and relatives, to perform a number in front of people they sometimes know and sometimes don't.
"Oh come on Munna, show uncle that Hrithik Roshan step you learnt!"
"My daughter dances juuuuust like Madhuri Dixit, you know!!"
...and some other of these commonly used lines!
Now, you may wonder...what has this got to do with me...well, don't you still get it... I WAS ONE OF THOSE KIDS MADE TO DANCE AT EVERY GODDAMN PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was the eternal diva to my relatives and my so-in-love-with-my-dancing-skills Mother! (Which was highly questionable.... my dancing skills, I mean!)
"Ohhh, come on Mitchu...just this once...show us that dance step from Sridevi's movie...what about that song from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai...my daughter is simply the best when it comes to Madhuri Dixit dance numbers....and so it went on!!!!
I was left flummoxed and embarrassed most often initially as I wouldn't expect people to "farmaaish" a dance but as and when I got the hang of things and my mother's behavior I was anything but a novice dancing my way to glory at any bloody party!!!
But, I wonder if its the same case today...what with rich relatives calling in Professionals to dance at parties, are the Child-Item-Girls fading away ???? I begin to wonder...
Probably, we should begin a "Lets save the Girl-Child-Item-Girl Movement!" LOL!
Lets all get together and make a difference...what do you say???
The Eternal Girl-Child-Item-Girl,
Mitch!
